I could never find out who the actual owner of that machine was, but it was ordered by the tech guys for some group that was doing advanced research on innovative new products and the people who used them  :t2954:

I used it for several months and even took it home. Eventually the board crapped out so I put it back in the corner and walked away.

I am familiar with MotionRC. Awhile back, before the quad craze, I was looking at the Strega from Rock Hobbbie that was offered thru MotionRC

https://www.motionrc.com/collections/sport-and-racer-airplanes/products/rochobby-strega-p-51-pnp

I chickened out though. I had enough trouble just trying to belly land the Bixler. Lord knows the Strega would've met disaster soon after launch.

Just had A chance to look at your video definitely  binding.  had the same problem with a couple of my printers easy fix.  Keep an eye on your z rods the nuts that come with them will have some backlash issues which will let one side drop a little more than the other after the print is  finished. Youu can get some antibacklash nuts to help i havent bothered with mine i just fix it when i need to.  Glad you got the mosfet module it is well worth and  will save your controller otherwise the a screw teminals for the heat bed on the mainboard will start to melt and burn lessened the hardway. Waiting on a new mosfet module myself since I toasted  another cheap one over the weekend.

You will need some type of slicing program to take cad  files and convert them into something the 3d printer can use.  There are a bunch free onesie and some really good pay  ones.  The free ones all have some limitations but are usable.  A good one that most people are using over at the bb8 builders club is simplify 3d.  Very easy to use with alot of options.

Forgot about this post until no.  Been 3d printing for a while and some sit 3d printers can also double as a cbc machine and laser engraver with just cashing different firmware.

Hard to tell actually what is the problem with your z axis from my phone  but the most common problem with z axis  is binding.  make sure your build plate is at 90 degrees to your z axis also sometimes the rods are not perfectly straight. Then all you have to do is leave your top rod supports loose  to keep from binding.  Another common problem is you might have to adjust the voltage up or down for your z stepper driver.
