Thanks for all the tips. I know this is real newbie stuff, but the consideration, patience and support on this forum is awesome.

This weekend's project.

- calibrate the ESCs/motors
- check balance and that motors are doing what they should(without props!!)
- solder the GPS module back together

Cross fingers and go.

Stay tuned.

Joe

Also make sure the motors are plugged in correctly

Your welcome Joe... but the only real "newbie stuff" on here would be how do I change the AA battery's in my Tx, everything else is pretty normal...  :b0201: :b0201: :b0201: :t2030: :t2030:

Re: Naza m-lite flips on take off - SOLVED

OK, another couple of epic crashes yesterday after calibrating the escs.

Went back to the Naza manual, videos and FAQs and noticed the order that the Naza guy hooked up his motors. Counter-clockwise from front right M1-M2-M3-M4.

And realised that I had mine hooked up M1-M3-M2-M4!!!!

Issue was that I was building from two sets of instructions. The crossfire 3d print assembly guide and the Naza setup guide and they had different motor configurations (KK setup is different?).

I assumed (isn't this always when stuff goes wrong) that all Motor numbering would be the same for all controllers. Not so it seems.

I flipped M2 and M3 cables and we're up  :t2980:

I'll post some vids of the successful flight.

Thanks for all help guys. Now I can mount the action cam and start playing with some of the advanced settings.

Well that is great news Joe! Really happy to hear this.

It's hard for us to query a new guy about motor config and not be offensive (I think it was Tom earlier on and finally AKPhil who were the brave ones). But we've all done it in one way or another. That is "being 110% positive" about something only to have to slap our heads when we realize we've overlooked one teensy detail.

Now the real fun begins  :t1815:

Randy is right Joe, we've pretty much all done it, that's why we know to ask... :face-slap: :b0201:

I was replacing a couple of damaged props and meticulously paid very close attention to them AND STILL put them on wrong and it flipped like a fish....  :frokkelled: :0042v1: :b0201:

Soooo, don't feel bad, this hobby has a learning curve that will make you beat your head against the wall sometimes, but once it is air born, it is all worth it....   :t2980: :t2923:
