Can I Fly Here?

Here is a pretty cool website where all you do is plug your address or zip code and see if you are in or out of potential airport restricted flying space.

Ed-

Thanks for the link  :t2030:  :t2981:

I live in the middle of nowhere.  So out of curiosity, I plugged in my address and the results were surprising.  Yes I am "ok", BUT 5.29 miles from my location was an "airport".  :b0703:  Well this "airport" was a paved runway used years ago by crop duster pilots for the local potato farms and maybe a couple of other pilots.  Now it is broken up asphalt/concrete and there are just a couple of planes that appear to be in a pretty poor state of repair .  So this program IMHO is pretty decent for pulling up a lot of potential problem areas and giving an owner/operator a "headsup"  :t2030:  :coolguy:

Good Stuff  :coolguy:

Ha!

Me too:

YOU'RE STILL CLOSE
YOU ARE OUTSIDE OF THE 5 MILE RADIUS OF ACTIVE AIRSTRIPS, BUT YOU’RE STILL 5.13 MILES FROM YALE AIRPORT. MAKE SURE TO FLY WITH CAUTION, AND THINK ABOUT MOVING A LITTLE FURTHER AWAY!

Yale "Airport" is like the one you mentioned. I've never seen a plane take off or land there. It's a long grass runway with open sided hangers housing old rusted out farm equipment. But you're right JB, it's a good heads up.

i'll make sure I fly in the front yard on the west side of my place; 5.15 mile away  :b0209:

I am apparently good to go.  The nearest airstrip is 6.8 miles away.  Now as long as I don't FPV too far east, I am safe!    :t2962:

I'm 1.3 mi in the bad. I live in a tourist town with not only airports and coast guard stations, but helicopter pads that gives rides around the whole town.
The flying I have been doing has been below the 30' range so I don't think I will be wearing any handcuffs over it. :t2954:
when the weather gets better then I will find a better flying prospective so  :t2962:
