Been a while, but I've had to build a new workshop so I can vacate the room I was using for more people in my house now.  I ended up with a much better, though smaller space.  Check it out!  On the right if you look close, there is a 20A plug on the top shelf and bottom bench to the right side, those are on a DEDICATED 20A circuit, then the two of the left are a totally separated, dedicated 20A!  It's only about 15' to the box, so it was no biggie.  Hopefully that's enough power to run everything I have, but if not, then there WILL be more circuits installed!  Side note, I finally got around to running another 20A circuit to my kitchen counter, which is most useful.  So, all in all, I added three 20A circuits to my box in two days.  Not too shabby

Here is one of the aileron links I was making.  Doesn't show a lot, I'll have to get some better, updated pictures.  I've started on the tail now, got all four servos strapped in and strung to the front of the fuse.  Now I'm working on making the linkages for them, but ran out of good connectors, so waiting on those to come in, I've shifted to working on the motor mount this AM.  Again, need to snap some more pictures.

Progress is SLOW!!  I have one more custom link to make, then it will be time to hook up the RX and get to work on that...I'll try to get some pictures soon of the LITTLE progress so far.

What I DID do tonight was order an AR7000 that should be here Monday!!  I went to look for a 7ch Orange RX and NO LOVE!!  ARGH!!  Oh well, guess we'll step up to the real thing.  This bird COULD be done with 6ch, but 7ch is going to be WAY better!  I will have one ch for each of the servos and still have one left for the ESC.  I think that's the best way to go.  Not sure if I will have enough juice for the ailerons, but at least everything will be individually powered / no splits!

Well Crap Wayne!!!!!

I have a Spektrum AR 6210 w/Satellite for sale for $40 and a AR 7610 (High Speed Receiver) w/Satellite for $50...

6210 has maybe 5-8 flights on it and 7610 has about 15-20... I decided to go with something else on my 35cc Extra so I don't need those...

Yeah, that ain't good, oh well, I go the AR7100 in hand yesterday, it came with sat, but I'm going to have to use my super long sat cords to get it where I want it.  Anyway, I've been needing to upload these for a while.  I have all the links roughed in and the major electronics laid out.  They just need to be fastened in place and connected.

I'm going to have to drill out the prop to get it to fit the motor.  I have access to a nice drill press that should do the trick and keep it centered

I put this in the radio section as well, but I finally got my butt in gear long enough to get the twin servos on the tail working together tonight.  Maybe that will be the spark I need to get this project going??

Just one question:

What's the bottle opener for?

That's one of them paint can openers you can get from hardware store.  It's for helping to pry those horns on and off the servos.  They were way off line when I first energized them.

Can anyone answer my question I posted on the HK page?  You can see the recommended motor and ESC I bought there...

I've had this project on my bench some time now, finally starting to make real progress. I am starting to be concerned with the Turnigy G160 suggested, which I purchased. That's a 160 glow replacement, NOT a 90! Am I going to be ok? I mean, I want good power, but dang! I also picked up the Turnigy 85A to run it, which was also suggested here. Is that pairing going to work? The motor specs say 9-10 cell, but then farther down the page it shows 6s-10s lipo, then even farther down it shows performance on a 6s. I can't go higher than 6S on that ESC!

Came home this afternoon and did a little work.  Got the nose all fitted and ready to go.  Everything under the hood is tightened up and ready to go, just have to put the cowl screws in now, tighten the prop nut and put on the spinner.

The hardest part left now is done, I built and installed a battery tray

Here is a picture of the batteries (3 of them) fitted.  I can move them in several configurations to hopefully seek the proper balance

I got the flaps set up this am.  I just had to do the flap menu in the initial setup screen, then it appeared in the normal setup and I set the travels.  0 for normal, 20% and 35% to start, not getting too crazy, but that should slow this beast right down for a slow, smooth landing
