Mini Cessna 182
« on: July 26, 2014, 08:03:54 PM »
Hello everyone  :b0206:

I recently decided I miss this hobby too much! So I went onto HobbyKing and I ordered myself the mini cessna 182 4chan beginner. The plane cost me 35 and the postage cost me 45!!!! Absolutely rediculos.

Anyways. I took some pictures for you guys. But before you look at them. Read this list of problems!

1. One of the wires from the motor to the esc had snapped off
2. The tail is bent as though its had something sat on it.
3. The motors temperamental.
4. The tail servo was stripped before I even plugged it in.
5. The elevator servo looks like it's been replaced before.
6. The screws holding the wheel covers were screwed into the actual wheel.
7. The elevator was really difficult to mount and had to modify it's shape.

Anyways that's about it. Here's the pics. Can't wait to fly it!! :D

Hey Brat!!

Those are before and after right?
I really like the after shots.

Man if you did that, you did a really nice job -- there is just no comparison.

Nice going and thanks for posting.

Looks like you sorted out the problems . It should fly ok , Cessnas are not too bad but may tip stall so keep the speed up when turning.
Is the nose wheel steerable? If it is I would advise making it fixed . steerable nose wheels tend to fail more than they work on models like that .

Thanks for the replies folks!  :t2981:

Haha hey RC :p

Thanks man! Yeah the ones without decals are the ones I took when unboxing. And the ones all stickered up are the ones I took shortly after I assembled it haha.

But thanks dude :) I haven't gotten round to flying it yet. But my friend had loads of helis and planes and he's checked it over and said it looks like it will fly alright so that's good news haha

And cheers wiz

No it's not steerable nose wheel. It's just the baby version. Just 4 channel so it doesn't have flaps, steerable nose wheel or nav lights. But I do really want that one next. But I'll decide if I'm defo gonna get one if this one doesn't break on my maiden flight like my glider did! Hahaha

Nice looking Cessna.  I wouldnt mind one myself, For around $50 Bit smaller than my Bixler could be a good addition.
